Terry has joined the Camp Folks team as an intern for the Spring semester. Watch for posts from Terry regarding his experience with Camp Folks and helpful tips for making the most of your outdoor adventures!
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin but have lived in Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, Washington, and now Florida!
What is your favorite thing to do in Tallahassee?
I love to explore the single-track mountain bike trails, climb at the Tally Rock Gym, or enjoy a craft beer at Proof or Grasslands.
What is your favorite piece of gear in the shop?
I love the Eagle Nest Outfitters (ENO) Double Nest Hammock. I had never slept in a hammock before starting at Camp Folks and now I’m hooked. The Double Nest is super easy to set up, has a weight capacity of up to 400lbs and is a mere 19oz. ENO + a good book = a perfect day!
Where is your favorite place to camp in North Florida?
If I’m feeling the beach, I really like Alligator Point or the primitive sites at Saint George Island State Park. I also really enjoy paddling out to Goat Island on Lake Talquin (but that’s still a relative secret so don’t tell ;)!
Favorite place you’ve ever camped?
Hands down, La Push, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. Beautiful hike-in, beach camping, sea stacks, sea otters, starfish, and absolute serenity. Moab, Utah is a distant, but still amazing, second.
How do I get in touch with you?
